Intended audience: This group is intended for residents who live in the suburbs on the west side of Ottawa, e.g. Nepean, Kanata, Barrhaven and Stittsville.
Purpose: Let's meet up neighbors and get to know one another and see what our towns have to offer. Let's check out the restaurants, pubs, coffee places, shops, movies, outdoor activities and other areas were we can get into trouble!
Membership restrictions: While meant for residents, everyone is welcomed. Please keep in mind that actives will be west-of-Ottawa centric although we may do activities anywhere.
Historical: This group was originally founded in Nov 2009 on meetup.com. On Feb 19th, 2011, we received our own domain of OttawaWestSocial.ca hosted using groupspaces.com's platform. As of October 1st, 2011 we have 134 members (and increasing).
New members are welcome to all events (see group policies). You must upload a photo to your proflephoto to your profile so we can recognize you at events.
